Theresa Baxter is a Family Nurse Practitioner on Addiction Consult team at University/Community Hospitals in Syracuse NY.
While working on inpatient Acute Pain Service, she worked with hospital leadership to create a team providing specialized care for patients with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), treating patients primarily with Alcohol and/or Opioid Use Disorder, concomitant pain.

As co-chair of the campus SUD Committee, projects piloted include Buprenorphine Low Dose Induction, Opioid and Alcohol Withdrawal Management.  She provides SUD/Pain Management education on campus and in the community. 
She advocates for in-hospita; equitable evidence based pain/SUD care.
